时为1948年冬，国共内战已经到了最后的白热化阶段，国民党兵败如山倒，中国共产党一统江山已成大势所趋。在即将落败之前，国民党政府企图将一批国宝虏至台湾，这个代号为“钟山一号”的任务最终落到了总统府外事秘书代薇（莫小棋饰）的头上。代薇美艳高贵，被蒋介石称为“东方第一美人”，而她还有着极其复杂的身份。为了防止国宝流失，中共方面授意地下党成员“燕子”——国民党保密局南京站行动处少校陈丽红（甘婷婷饰）联合同志们阻止国民党的行动。在此期间，各方势力纷纷介入其中，神秘的杀手“螳螂”也令事态更加扑朔迷离，险象环生。所有人的爱恨情仇都与着纷纷乱世紧紧纠缠在了一起……
